Dear Wine Lover,
The
Tantara spring releases are here. We received four single vineyards and
two cuvees. These wine are lush, large but most of all lovely.

004 Tantara Santa Maria Pinot Noir
Was $30.00 Sale $26.89
The dark plum/ruby colored 2004 Pinot Noir Santa Maria reveals
up-front, forward, seductive, forest floor, plum, cherry, and fig-like
notes, a sweet, savory texture, and a seductive, lush finish. Enjoy it
over the next 2-3 years.
2004 Tantara Adobe Bien Nacido Vyd. Santa Maria Pinot Noir
Was $45.00 Sale $39.89
The
four sub-vineyards that comprise this wine have been farmed organically
since their inception. What this type of viticulture does is make one
more aware of the cycles, rhythms and life forces of not just the vine
but the other flora and fauna that are part of the ecosystem. This
study also influences the way we approach this wine, always looking for
definition, depth and harmony. This rich offering would do well to be
consumed with a truffled filet of beef.
2004 Tantara La Colline Vyd. Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot
Was $45.00 Sale $39.89
This
wine speaks very clearly of its site. There is a purity of fruit, a
lift in the perfume, delicacy yet power. The delineation of flavor as
it moves across the palate, reminds us of why we were captivated by
Pinot Noir in the first place. A noble pairing would be with pheasant
and wild rice.
2004 Tantara Brosseau Vyd. Chalone Pinot Noir
Was $53.00 Sale $47.89
Our
first Pinot from this fabled appellation put on the world map by the
efforts of Chalone. The site is dramatic, located on a high rolling
plateau, at the foot of a granite volcanic remnant, the West Pinnacles.
This bench is an uplift of ancient marine soil and sediment, one of the
few true limestone based soils in California. The vineyard produces
wines of great character; ripe fruit with a framework of tannin and
minerality.
2004 Tantara Pisoni Vyd. Santa Lucia Pinot Noir Was $60.00 Sale $54.89
Bold
yet refined, this very unique interpretation of Pinot Noir is part
site, part clone and part viticulture. All vineyards of course have
these same components. What makes this one so unusual is the seamless
integration of these parts. Maybe that is why the wines have such
depth, balance and flavor. This one would be happy with rare grilled
steak and morels.
2004 Tantara Evelyn Santa Maria Pinot Noir Was $78.00 Sale $69.89
This
wine, a blend of select barrels represents the pinnacle of each
vintage, and as such, is a good marker for the quality and character of
the vintage. The wine in 2004 is exceptionally aromatic. With richness
of fruit supported by ripe tannins, it has density with finesse and a
lingering finish. Savour with a veal chop accompanied by herbs and wild
mushrooms.
