Dear Wine Lover,

Over the last several years, there has been considerable evidence that Adam Tolmach's Ojai Vineyard is among the leading candidates for Santa Barbara's top winery. One cannot say enough about the commitment to excellence he has exhibited year after year. -Robert Parker

2002 Ojai Thompson Vineyard Santa Barbara County Syrah $55.89

Robert Parker 94 points!!!

Lovers of Syrah’s beef blood character should check out the 2002 Syrah Thompson Vineyard. Aromas of creme de cassis, melted licorice, barbeque spices, roasted meat juices, and subtle herbs soar from the glass of this dense, full-bodied, multidimensional Syrah. Rich with low acidity, beautifully balanced and pure (characteristics of all the Ojai offerings), it can be drunk young or cellared for 10-15 years. 324 Cases were produced. -RP

2002 Ojai Roll Ranch Upper Ojai Valley California Syrah $55.89

Robert Parker 93 points!!!

The 2002 Syrah Roll Ranch possesses the blue/black color characteristic of this vineyard. The in-your-face, full-throttle, blue and blackberry fruit intermixed with a hint of espresso roast are followed by oodles of blue and black fruit flavors. This is viscous, voluptuous Syrah at its finest. A low acid, opulent, juicy, thick effort, it should be immensely gratifying to drink over the next 10-12 years. 550 Cases were produced. -RP
