Many winemakers I’ve come to know and admire have a story about “the taste”, a magical moment with a wine. My moment occurred back in the early 80s with one of the early Syrah’s from Zaca Mesa. Good fortune provided me the opportunity to work and learn my craft at Alban Vineyards in the central coast of California. 2002 Andrew Adam Edna Valley Syrah Was $30.00 Now $24.99

The distinction of this wine comes through in the smoky, chocolate, roasted notes which have integrated even more than we imagined, delivering a wine rich with layers of black fruits, bright acid and high floral notes, true to the cool-climate Syrah berry. Grapes came from the Difronzo Vineyard and Domaine Alfred. 139 cases were produced.

2003 Andrew Adam Arroyo Grande Pinot Gris Was $19.00 Now $17.99

First, our Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot Gris behaved wonderfully during the year. Too often barrel fermented whites can lose those enticing light floral notes to gain texture and I’m proud to report that is not the case of this wine.  The refined citrus and floral notes float on a body of incredible softness. Grapes are from the Laetitia Vineyard (clone 152). 169 cases were produced.

2003 Andrew Adam Arroyo Grande “Goliath” Pinot Gris Was $23.00 Now $21.99

Finally let me introduce you to “Goliath”. Not a name usually associated with a delicate white wine, but I assure you, this wine is aptly named!  It is fat and rich, layered with a variety of flavors of white fruits, ultra ripe and decadent to say the least, yet despite all of its “bigness”, it is unmistakably Pinot Gris. Grapes came from the Laetitia Vineyard (clone 146).  49 cases were produced.
