2005 Tensley Colson Canyon Vineyard Santa Barbara County Syrah
Robert Parker: 94 Points This 2005 Syrah from the Colson Canyon Vineyard is one of the few Tensley wines that sees any new oak (20%). Its opaque purple color is followed by notes of beef blood, tar, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice, and acacia flowers. It is a full-bodied, dense, rich, impressively endowed effort which, like its siblings, needs several years of bottle age, and should age nicely for 12 or more years.
