Robert Parker 94+ points: Displaying a deep hued ruby/purple color as well as a sumptuous bouquet of spring flowers, blackberries, forest floor, and subtle wood, the 2004 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard resembles a grand cru from the Cotes de Nuits. This broad, rich Pinot should age beautifully for 5-6 years ... but who can wait that long?!?!

2003 Copain Les Copain James Berry Paso Robles Grenache Mourvedre $39.99
This is a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Mourvedre from the James Berry Vineyard in Paso Robles. The steep hillside vineyard with its limestone soil has produced a very pure and refreshing wine. This soil profile is the same in Chateauneuf du Pape and allows those wines to be balanced even with elevated alcohol levels. This wine protrays sweet leather, cured meat, ascent the candied face powder, raspberry and sage aromas. Great fresh raspberry fruit, crushed stones and talc intermingle with the gamy Mourvedre character. The flavors are very persistent on the rich lingering finish.
