Our good friend Sean Mitchell, Owner/Winemaker of Palm Cellars, has "thrown in the towel"!!!

Palm has always been our number one selling Zinfandel and we can't even remember how many hundreds of cases we have sold. Because of our past relationship, we have been offered the last of Palm Cellars inventory at a "ridiculous price"!!!

Tasting Notes: The wine has a dark ruby like color with a brighter Fushia rim character of its PH. The wine explodes aromatically at first whiff. Big time Blackberry and Raspberry jam. The oak puts its 2 cents in with toast/carmel/vanilla/wood shavings and herbs. It is a big wine with alot of extract, that has all the elements in balance. It has a certain flavor curve to it. It starts out innocently enough, but then rapidly it gains enormous power and concentration before shifting gears again into a long focused finish. Production 699 cases

Vineyard Notes: The 2004 vintage was a challenging year. It was the last year of a 6 year drought. This coupled with the vineyard being dry farmed was starting to show. We used strict selection in the vineyard and at the winery. Only the best fruit was used, and it was pretty special at that.

Winemaking Notes: After working with this vineyard for some time we are aware of it ripening patterns. We picked almost on a plant by plant basis. We did the same 3-4 day cold soak as before, but changed some things to further add refinement and complexity to the final product. 4 types of yeasts were used, 10 plus different types of oak (80% new) and worked by hand. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with very low SO2.
