2005 Ojai Thompson Vineyard Santa Barbara County Syrah $44.89
Robert Parker 94 Points: The fabulous 2004 Syrah Thompson exhibits aromas of forest floor, roasted meat, espresso roast, blackberries, and blueberries. Aromatically, it is stunningly rich, full, and heady. In the mouth, it is more restrained. While it possesses plenty of aging potential, it requires more time in the bottle to strut its stuff. It should certainly be as good as some of its siblings, and I would have no problem drinking it at present, although I am sure Adam Tolmach believes it needs 5-6 years of cellaring. It will last for 10-15 years ... at the minimum.
2005 Ojai Bien Nacido Vineyard Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay $29.89
Robert Parker 91 Points: Outstanding is the mineral-dominated 2005 Chardonnay Bien Nacido. Exhibiting elegant lemon rind, orange zest, and citrus notes in a medium to full-bodied, powerful, rich style, it will offer plenty of pleasure over the next 3-4 years.
2005 Ojai Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir $34.89
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: This brilliant Pinot Noir is comprised of 60% Neison Vineyard & 40% Fe Ciega Vineyard and offers a wonderful combination of red and black fruits intermixed with crushed rock, wet stone, smoke, roasted herb, and earth characteristics. Beautifully pure and powerful as well as elegant, impressively pure, and nicely textured, it can be enjoyed now and over the next decade.
