The inaugural 2005 vintage is composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petite Verdot. The wine was aged for 26 months in 80% new French oak barrels, in order to polish that tannins and add complexity to the wine. The wine exhibits rich vanilla character, along with dried cherries, raspberry, and savory notes. The tannins are soft, while the mid-palate is mouthwatering and juicy. The complex fruit character is enhanced by flavors of dried sage, cardamom, and black tea. At this time the wine softens and becomes more expressive with a light decanting.
