Dear Wine Lover,

The new release of Lucia Vineyards Wines have arrived…

Lucia Vineyards is produced by the Pisoni family owners of the Pisoni Estate label. Last year, Wine Connoisseurs gave the 2003 Lucia Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir three puffs and we sold out immediately. This new release has not yet been rated, but we feel it’s going to be just as fantastic.

2004 Lucia Vineyards Garys’ Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir Was $45.00 Sale Price $39.89

The Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir is the flagship wine of Lucia Vineyards & Winery. Specific barrels are hand selected and blended together to create a wine that best reflects the unique terroir of the Garys’ Vineyard. This site produces wines of vibrant, pretty and floral aromatics with a lush, rich texture and firm acidity. The wines drink well upon release, but contain the acidity and tannins to age gracefully for several years. The Garys’ Vineyard Pinot is very aromatic. It has a round nose of red fruits, crushed violets, and cinnamon spice. On the palate, the wine is full bodied with very fine tannins. The finish is long, and as is typical of the Garys, displays a nice acid profile.

2004 Lucia Vineyards Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir Was $38.00 Sale Price $33.89
This wine is produced from different vineyards within the
Santa Lucia Highlands. Composed of mainly fruit from the Pisoni Vineyard and the Garys’ Vineyard, the Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is a distinct representation of this cool climate and mountainous American Viticultural Area. The density of this wine is immediately evident on the nose. It is a spicy, fruit-driven Pinot Noir. Dark fruits including black cherry, blueberry, and ollallieberry combine with delicate tannins to create a very food-friendly Pinot Noir.

2004 Lucia Vineyards Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay Was $35.00 Sale Price $31.89

The 2004 Chardonnay is produced from three small blocks at Pisoni Vineyard. The mountainous estate has garnered a great deal of acclaim for its Pinot Noir; however, few connoisseurs are aware that there are three small parcels of Chardonnay on the property. Originally planted in 1982, these old Chardonnay vines have prospered in the cool climate of the Santa Lucias. Light straw in color, this years Lucia Chardonnay is very tropical. Highlighted by exotic fruits such as melon and guava, with a core of rich lemon zest, the wine shows excellent minerality. The wines cleansing acidity is an excellent complement to the thick, full texture. 310 Cases

2005 Lucia Vineyards Lucy Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir Rosé Was $18.00 Sale Price $15.89

The Rosé is made by allowing the grape juice to sit on the Pinot Noir skins for a couple days. After picking up enough color, the juice is drained from the grape skins into barrels, where it ferments. After fermentation, the wine undergoes malo-lactic fermentation. This is not as common for Rose, but it gives the wine more body, and allows it to be bottled unfiltered. This rose is produced from grapes grown in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. The wine is sourced mainly from the Pisoni Vineyard and the Garys’ Vineyard. As a result the Rosé exhibits bright aromatics and more palate weight than an ordinary rosé. Dark raspberry in color, the beautiful aromatics are full of wild strawberry and watermelon. This dry rose rosé is rich on the palate, but has a leaner finish. It ends with nice, crisp acidity. In addition, one dollar of every Lucy bottle sold is donated to breast cancer research.
