Dear Wine Lover,

The Stanton family has been growing grapes in the Napa Valley since 1947. Beginning with the harvest of 1999, Doug Stanton began selecting some of their best Oakville Cabernet for the Stanton Vineyards label. With over 70 acres of grapes to choose from, including all five of the classic Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec) the challenge becomes which variety or varieties best complement the Oakville Cabernet for a particular year. For this vintage, the 2004, winemaker Dave Phinney (The Prisoner) selected a blend of 7% St. Helena Petite Sirah to go with 93% Oakville Cabernet.

2005 Stanton Vineyards Oakville Napa Cabernet Sauvignon $74.89
This wine is richly structured with expressive aromas of ripe cassis, blackberry and blueberry, smoothly integrated with pleasant oak flavors, that finishes on the palate with medium-full tannins. Aged 20 months in 100% French Oak. Production: 625 cases
