Come meet Tony Coturri, third generation winemaker, who has been using traditional, natural, and organic practices in the vineyard and the cellar since 1979. Coturri wines are sourced from select vineyards in both the Sonoma and Mendocino Counties and could be labeled an "Organic Wine" because they use certified organic grapes and their wines contain no additives, such as sulfites or tartaric acid.
Tony has flown in from Sonoma to pour these fantastic wines for you both Friday and Saturday!!!
2003 Coturri Testa Vineyard Mendocino Carignane $19.99
The Testa Vineyard Carignane is soft and fragrant with a rich and forward fruit, and a bright well balanced acidity. Aromas of ripe ruby red grapefruit peel, strawberry, violet, and leather with flavors of cherry plum and Asian spice. It lingers on the palate. Production: 499 cases
2005 Coturri Albarello Sonoma $19.99
Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane, Barbara, & Alicante Boushet
A full bodied, ripe wine with good acidity and flavors. This wine goes well with just about any Mediterranean cuisine from cheese and crusty bread, grilled meats and vegetables to pasta and pomadora sauce. Production: 650 cases
2005 Coturri Chauvet Vineyards Sonoma Valley Zinfandel $23.99
This Zinfandel is reminiscent of the Zinfandels produced in the late 1970’s which comprises of very dark color, aromas of blackberries, a sweet middle and a dry acid finish. A very bright wine that is pleasing to the palate. Production: 525 cases
2004 Coturri Jewell Vineyard Sonoma Mountain Pinot Noir $29.99
The vines are dry farmed, meaning no irrigation. The clusters fit in the palm of your hand and the berries are the size of peas. The wine is a study of silky tannins because the ratio of juice to skin is heavy toward the skins- a primary source of tannins. This wine is very dark, very ripe and has a wonderful texture. Aged in re-conditioned French oak barrels for 26 months. A very age worthy, sturdy and classic Pinot Noir. Production: 150 cases
2004 Coturri Freiberg Vineyards Sonoma Valley Sangiovese $29.99
This Sangiovese is a dark, very complex, and earthy wine with overtones of ripe strawberries and new leather in the aroma, an almost sweet mid-palate and fine textured tannins in the finish. Production: 125 cases
2005 Coturri Estate Vineyard Sonoma Mountain Zinfandel $31.99
This wine has black fruit in the nose, a very sweet mid-palate, and good balancing acidity in the finish. Production: 150 cases
2005 Coturri Testa Vineyard Mendocino County Cabernet Sauvignon $31.99
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, made from very small berries, has silky skin tannins and a flavor that carries from remarkable Cabernet fruit. Production: 549 cases
1996 Coturri Jerssandra Vineyard Sonoma 375mL Port $19.99
90% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Sangiovese
This Port is a result of a terrible wild fire in 1996 which raced across the Mayacamas Mountain range and burned these vineyards. The fires didn't destroy every vine but due to the intense heat the remaining fruit in the lot was turned to Port. Unusual varietals to make Port, but what a delicious Port it turned out made! Fruit forward, great acidity and a nice smoky overtone. Production: 109 cases
