Dear Wine Lover,

Dave's back... pouring his new releases and some of our old favorites.

2005 Core Santa Barbara Grenache Mourvèdre Tempranillo Syrah Rose $13.99
Core produces a fine Rose as evidenced by their 2005. Light pink-colored with a touch of copper, it offers beautiful texture, crisp acidity, and serious flavor depth. Drink it over the next 12 to 18 months.
2004 Core Turchi Santa Barbara Syrah 17% Cabernet 7% Malbec $14.99
The 2004 Core Turchi is a blend of 76% Syrah, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Malbec and shows like a lighter styled Syrah. With intense dark fruit, black licorice and just a hint of spice at the finish, this wine is really a winner. Production: 520 cases
2005 Core C3 San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Tempranillo $17.99
The 2005 Core C3 is not your normal Tempranillo, but more like a California Cabernet. With smooth Cab like characteristics, which include a full bodied mouth feel and supple tannins lingering on the finish. Production 138 cases
2004 Core Blend 613 Santa Ynez Grenache Blanc Marsanne Rousanne $20.99
A blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Rousanne from vineyards located in the southern portion of Santa Barbara County, the second vintage of this fantastic white wines produced by Core. The medium ruby-colored, sexy 2004 Blend 163 (60% Grenache, 28% Syrah, and 12% Mourvedre) smells like cherry and raspberry pie doused in kirsch liqueur. Additionally, there are Mediterranean salty sea breeze and peppery scents. In the mouth, the wine is layered, ripe, complex, and rich. Drink it over the next 3 to 4 years
2004 Core B.Core Santa Ynez Marsanne & Rousanne $27.99
The 2004 B. Core, a blend of 57% Marsanne and 43% Roussanne, exhibits plenty of buttery, toasty, smoky new oak. It reminded me of an old style, aggressively oaky Meursault from the likes of Michelot-Buisson. Drink over the next 3 to 4 years. Production: 88 cases
2003 Core Hard Core Santa Barbara Mourvèdre Grenache Cab Sauvignon $28.99
