Dear Wine Lover,

We will be pouring the following from this boutique Santa Barbara winery.

Tasting Notes from Brett Escalera, Co-Owner and Winemaker

2004 Consilience Santa Barbara County Syrah $17.99
A careful blend comprised of several great local vineyards, this is one of the most well rounded representatives of the deep, juicy dark berry flavors, and chocolaty tannins that can be achieved with the synergy of multiple vineyards.
2005 Consilience Santa Barbara County Viognier $19.89
This wine was created with a combination of both stainless steel tank and barrel fermentation.  The stainless steel tank fermented portion preserves refreshing aromatics of peach, citrus and perhaps a little touch of honey.  The tropical fruity aromas are enough to almost suggest that it could be a sweet wine, but then give way to a more surprisingly dry, crisp and balanced palate.
2004 Consilience Santa Barbara County Roussanne $21.89
Among our small array of white wines the Roussanne probably stands as the most full bodied, complex and thought provoking white.  Unlike the Viognier which was partially tank fermented to preserve its natural floral, sweet aromatics, the Roussanne was 100% barrel fermented in French oak barrels to highlight its natural complexity of honey, peach, and butterscotch flavors and big rounded, full bodied texture.
2004 Consilience Santa Barbara County Petite Sirah $21.99
This Petite Sirah is a big, inky, and juicy wine, showing extracted mouth filling hints of spiciness, white pepper and tobacco complement concentrated fruit flavors that hang on a firm structure of assertive, but not overly aggressive tannins.
2005 Consilience Santa Barbara County Grenache Blanc $22.89
Capitalizing on the natural bright flavors and crisp acidity of Grenache Blanc, this is the liveliest of the three white wines currently produced by Consilience. This wine was 100% barrel fermented in older French Oak and features crisp flavors of green apple, peach and honey with a touch of minerality.
2004 Consilience Santa Barbara County Grenache $26.89
A native grape from the Northeast corner of Spain and Southern France, Grenache is fantastic both as a blending component and a standalone varietal.  It brings a rustic and smoky character together with more typical black currant, blackberry and cherry flavors, and maybe just a touch of tobacco and licorice flavors.
2005 Consilience Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir $28.89
This Pinot though full bodied and structured, still has a silky texture and natural finesse. It's a complex wine with strawberry and black cherry flavors that are more extracted and expressive than your average Burgundian styled Pinot Noir.
2004 Consilience Rhodes Vineyard Mendocino Zinfandel $29.89
While maintaining some underlying complexity, the overwhelming feature of this wine is an up-front, extroverted and celebratory fruit-forward style.
2002 Consilience 375ml Dry Creek Valley Sonoma County Zinfandel Port $15.99
