Andrew Vingiello has hit another home run with his 2006 Pinot Noirs... but how could you go wrong with Brian Loring as your teacher and with fruit coming from some of the best vineyards in California.

First come… First serve… Was $48.00... Your choice $42.99!!!

*Winemaker's Tasting Notes*
2006 A.P.Vin Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir
The nose and palate remind me of an earlier Chalone style of Pinot from one of the riper years. There are scents of lead pencil and mineral, it's extremely dark; it has a lower acid feel and even seems to have a lower alcohol finish. On the palate the wine continues to suggest the Pinnacles to me for some mysterious reason as it is reminiscent of a young Calera. Hard to believe this is a cool-climate, very late picked, cool harvest Pinot from the Santa Maria Valley. Everything points to ripeness in this wine. Nice texture and refined tannins. It's hard to resist this interesting Pinot, the most unique of AP's '06s in my opinion. Production: 75 cases
2006 A.P.Vin Turner Vineyard Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Sweetness on the nose, tremendous color, deep, good acidity, very young Burgundy-like, but still different than the Clos Pepe. Some tannin and oak in the long finish. Baskets of cherry fruit throughout the big palate. This fruit (and wine) will certainly live a long time. Production: 125 cases
2006 A.P.Vin Clos Pepe VIneyard Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Very dark color, Burgundian and dried flower ripe nose and palate, pretty big, supple and round tannins, the oak comes well into the finish. This is another vintage when the Clos is among my favorite of AP's wines. One of the softer palates of the group, even though there's plenty of tannin, it's just so full of fruit, it has a very approachable mouthfeel right out of the bottle. Production: 175 cases
2006 A.P.Vin Keefer Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Cranberry, great tartness, very similar to the 2005 Freeman Keefer with its light rose petal fragrance. Sweet nose of ripe fruits, anise, black cherry, this wine is all about ripeness in the nose, but not overripeness. The mid palate and finish are balanced by some of the prettiest oak I've ever tasted in a Pinot, not in a dominating way, but as a compliment to the fruit. The strong acidity integrates well after several hours of decanting. Should be a long ager. Production: 250 cases
2006 A.P.Vin Kanzler Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Big sweet fruit, strawberry rhubarb pie, earthiness and oak in the nose, with a mouthful of crushed berries. It's at the same time a huge and very complex wine. Incredibly long finish, plenty of tannin, very viscous, lower acidity. Decant this wine before you leave the house in the morning, then come home to enjoy it that night. This is a hedonist's wine for sure. Production: 275 cases
2006 A.P.Vin Rosella's Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
This is the darkest Rosella's I've ever seen. Subtle Santa Lucia nose, raspberry, cranberry and some citrus, very full-bodied with just the right amount of acidity, and plenty of oak in the nose and finish. The nose really opens up with a little time in the glass. Nice texture. The oak is very well-balanced and integrated. If I were to taste this wine blind against the Garys', I would have sworn the wines were reversed as this seems to be the more structured and fruit forward of the two wines, usually descriptors I'd use for Garys'. Production: 375 cases
2006 A.P.Vin Garys' Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
After about 2 minutes in the glass, the 2006 Garys'exhibits the beautiful earthy, spicy, floral and slightly citrus nose that comes out of the Santa Lucia Highlands. This wine has everything going for it in the right proportions. It appears to be a more contemplative and complex wine than the very fruit forward Rosella's, although they do have some similarities. The Garys' is a little softer and more approachable, while the Rosella's may need a little time in the bottle. Production: 399 cases
