2006 Drew Weir Vineyard Yorkville Highlands Pinot Noir $41.99
Tasting Notes: Dark, cherry red color with a medium full body. Scents of spice, sweet black cherries and exotic plums with concentrated floral notes and a nice integration of oak. The palate is complex and round with delicious mouth watering cherry fruits and a wonderful acidity on the finish with varietal undertones of rose petals and hints of minerality.
This vineyard is situated on the southeastern border of Anderson Valley and is located on a steep southeastern slope at an elevation of approximately 850 feet. The Weir Vineyard is approximately 15 acres of some of the most rare Pinot Noir clones today in California. For this vintage, Drew used two heirloom clones, one Domain Romanee Conti and one Rochioli River Block selection that was planted for Burt Williams in 1992, that is still used today by Williams Selyem Winery. Bill Weir, the owner of the Weir Vineyard is known as somewhat of a Burgundy fanatic and has strived to produce old world character in his north coast vineyard. Production: 189 cases
2006 Drew Fog-Eater Anderson Valley Mendocino County Pinot Noir $41.99
Tasting Notes: Deep red with magenta hues. Medium-full bodied. Blood red orange peel, blueberry, blackberry and hints of cranberry and wild herbs. The fruit is rich and seductive with blackberry tart, sweet earth and blood red plums; the tannins are smooth and the acidity lively with a long finish that concludes and defines this wine.
The Fog-Eater Pinot Noir is made up of two small Anderson Valley sites, 65% Valenti Vineyard and 35% Monument Tree Vineyard that are heavily influenced by coastal fog. Each site is chosen for its ability to add a distinctive layer to the finished wine. In the 2006 there is evident wild blackberry, blueberry, earth, game and herbs such as sage and marjoram.  There is enough structural tannins to balance the acidity and the fruit weight. The intention here is to express and define Anderson Valley terroir. Production: 495 cases
2006 Drew McDougall Ranch Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir $49.99
Tasting Notes: There is a certain refinement in this wine that is not often seen in today’s market of Pinot Noir. The nose has bright cherry aromas with earth and spice undertones. The fruit is focused and delicately sumptuous with delicious black cherries and sweet rose petals. The balance of elegant fruit weight and soft structure leaves the palate refreshed.  A superbly elegant wine from a superb site farmed with great care and passion.
This is a little seven-acre vineyard located in highly coveted area of the Sonoma Coast. This vineyard sits on a small bench approximately 1,300 feet elevation about four miles from the Pacific Ocean on a steep south slope. This vineyard defines the true Sonoma Coast "terroir". Production: 193 cases
